Camp Flog Gnaw Returns with the Highly Anticipated Debut of Kids See Ghosts

If you’re from Los Angeles, or even a music festival enthusiast, you are probably already counting down the days to the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. But for those who are confused by this seemingly bizarre “summer camp,” no, it’s not another reboot of Wet Hot American Summer.

Camp Flog Gnaw is a music festival-meets-carnival that takes place at Dodger Stadium, tucked away in the hills of Los Angeles, California. This year it will take place on November 10th and 11th. The carnival was started back in 2012 by Tyler, The Creator and his group Odd Future. Originally called OFWGKTA Carnival, Tyler launched the festival as an outlet for him and his group to put out their work for their fans as their tour came to an end.

Since it’s launch in 2012, however, the festival has grown quite a name for itself, especially after the line-up announcement for 2018. This year, the headliners include names such as Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Yachty, on top of trending artists such as Rex Orange County, BROCKHAMPTON, and Kids See Ghost, the newest collaboration of Kanye West and Kid Cudi. On top of these household names, there are amazing new artists to fall in love with buried in the lineup. Raveena, the New York native R&B singer-songwriter, is one of those hidden gems. Her music touches her dark memories, while also providing a message of empowerment and positivity.

The most talked about artist on the list this year is the head of Louis Vuitton’s mens fashion, Virgil Abloh. Abloh has been involved in the music industry for years, collaborating with Jay-Z and Daft Punk, as well as DJing a few of his own intimate shows. After a year of success and endorsement from Kanye West, Abloh’s performance is one of the most anticipated sets.

On top of great music and a beautiful location, the carnival also has games and amusement rides for goers to enjoy in between the artist’s sets. Prices range from $250 to $1,000, depending on the GA or VIP bundle you choose. The weekend will be jam-packed with activities welcomed for all ages.

An Inside Look at DreamHack 2018

Calling all gamers and internet geeks.

What happens when you mix your favorite video games and competitions with live concerts and expert panels? Introducing DreamHack Atlanta 2018! DreamHack is a 3 day gaming event that takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center from November 16-18.

With the rising popularity of esports, video game competitions are popping up everywhere, but only DreamHack has the world record for largest LAN party. What makes DreamHack uniques is the option to BYOC: bring your own computer. This means that all ticket holders are allowed to bring their devices to the competition. The open tournament is spread out over three days with prize money adding up to $50,000.

There is more than just games and competition at this event. The expo hall has different zones for fans to explore all the various aspects of video games. The Community Zone allows ticket holders to connect with their fellow gamers. Here, people participate in cosplay competitions, talk to cosplayers about how they created their costume, and watch people compete in speedrunning marathons to see who can complete a game in the fastest time possible. Another interesting installment to the festival is the Art Zone. This area visualizes indie video games created by the gamers themselves. The art is handpicked by the DreamHack staff and must include some aspect of an indie video game within the work. Participants are also allowed to purchase any of the artwork that is on display. For anyone who wants to understand the business behind esports, the Business Zone has panels about marketing, publishing, and everything you need to know about the operations behind the games.

And, lastly, of course, there is music! Friday, November 16 is EDM night, with DJs such as Slushii, Kill the Noise, and Riot spinning. Saturday, November 17 is Hip-Hop night. London On Da Track will be opening for Mick Jenkins on the main stage to close off the music for the festival. On both nights the performances will be available on live stream to watch from anywhere in the world.

This festival has something for everyone, so get your tickets now before they sell out! Tickets can be purchased on a day-by-day option or with a 3 day bundle. The coolest part about the 3 day pass is that you are granted 24 hour access to the venue – which means you never have to leave (and yes, they have a sleeping area for you!). You won’t want to miss this exciting event! Grab your tickets here. Happy gaming!

Brooklyn's Underground Party Scene

In 2016, TekSupport spurred its growth as the exclusive, go-to warehouse party in New York City.

Though New York City’s city life is ever changing and revamping, one thing is for certain; New Yorkers love to go out and love the best of all things nightlife. Though New York City is known for its elaborate clubs and elite venues, TekSupport provides parties like nothing else you have ever experienced before.

What makes TekSupport parties so amazing? They are sporadically planned so that not everyone will find about each event which comes its way. It is essentially the creme de la creme of New York nightlife. Not only that, but these parties are specifically located in secluded, desolate warehouses, held underground. It is an unconventional experience, at the very least.. You feel as though you are in an alternate universe, as you can physically feel the beat of each song amidst the metallic walls which envelope you.

What’s been successful for TekSupport in the past? Founder Rob Toma once managed to revamp a former submarine factory into an incredible concert venue, holding about 3500 people amidst the stellar sound systems in the Brooklyn area. He even shipped Ricardo Villalobos, famous Chilean-German music producer, to America, where he performed for the first time in almost a decade. Rob Toma explains what exactly sets it apart from other warehouse parties:

"Teksupport's philosophy and values can be boiled down into a few key elements: Hosting the industry's leading artists in raw spaces while featuring top-tier production."

TekSupport’s popularity has grown immensely since 2016, and as the top platform of Brooklyn’s underground party scene, this upcoming Halloween is already spurring commotion among New Yorkers. Be ready for topnotch artists this year, including The Martinez Brothers, Peggy Gou, Virgil Abloh, and Blond:ish. With the location still unknown tickets are already selling out! Get your tickets fast in order to be able to attend New York’s warehouse party of the year, as the pressure on TekSupport is broiling to make this Halloween weekend a time to remember.
